Description: October 6th. “The Rallies & Rifts of Nathanael Greene and ‘Light Horse Harry’ Lee.” Free Lyceum Series Program from 3-5 p.m at the Kershaw-Cornwallis House. Throughout most of 1781, Maj. General Nathanael Greene and Lt. Col. "Light Horse Harry" Lee worked together to drive the British from the Carolinas. Lee's outstanding service on and off the battlefield garnered Greene’s confidence, but his penchant for independent action contributed to Greene’s blistering defeat at the Battle of Eutaw Springs. The bitter dispute that erupted led to Lee’s resignation from the Continental Army. The complex, successful, and sometimes contentious relationship between these prominent Revolutionary War warriors will be discussed by historian/author Jim Piecuch. Light refreshment will be served and assorted books by Piecuch will be available for purchase. For inform or visit Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site is 1.4 miles from Exit 98/I-20 on Highway 521 North.
